Textbox Display |
The text display in the dtrt.NavBarWin navigation bar informs
you of your current position in the data you are viewing. The first number (xx)
in the text display “xx of yy” shows you which record
is the current one. The second number (yy) informs
you how many records are in the data.
If enabled, you can also use the textbox display to navigate
through the data. You can enter two
types of commands:
You operate in this mode by entering a number (for example
12) into the display area and pressing the enter key or clicking into any other
field in the application window. You can also copy/paste or drag/drop a number
into the text display. You can use the customary commands in the display text
box. The ESC key clears any entries and returns to the display mode.
You make an entry into the textbox display by clicking into
it with the left mouse button. You can also go there with the keyboard in the
customary way using the tab key to tab through the controls to the text
display.
Command type 1: Type a number into the display,
press Enter and the form window shows
the record with the desired number.
If you enter a number greater than the number of records the
last record is displayed if record cycling is disabled,
or the first one if record cycling is enabled. If you type 0
(zero), the first record will be displayed. If you enter a negative
number, this is a command type 2, see below.
You may only type one or more numeric digits in this mode.
Any other entry will not be accepted and an error message displayed.
Command type 2: Type a plus sign (+) followed
by a number into the display, press Enter and the current record will be
advanced by the typed number. (Example: typing “+3” increases the current
record number by 3). Typing a minus sign (-) followed by a number decreases the
current record number by the typed number.
If you enter a number greater than the number of records the
last record will be displayed if record cycling is disabled,
or the first one if record cycling is enabled. If you enter a negative number
greater than the current record number the first record will be displayed if
record cycling is disabled, or the last one if record cycling is enabled. Plus
or minus 0 (zero) forces the first record to be displayed.
You may only type one or more numeric digits together with a
preceding mandatory plus (+) or minus (-) character in this mode. Any other
entry will not be accepted and an error message displayed.
Note that the textbox display
and/or some of the features discussed on this page may not be available to you
because your application does not enable them.
